In a press event at a hotel in Seoul on Wednesday, the 26-year-old actor described the previous three months of shooting as being among the most fun and rewarding experiences of his career. The drama wrapped up successfully on Feb. 27 with viewer ratings of 28.1 percent.

Kim played the role of an alien who had lived on the Korean Peninsula since coming to Earth 400 years earlier, as he had been unable to find a way home. He said he made extra efforts to portray the weariness felt by the character after the many years he had struggled to live in this foreign land.

Jun Ji-hyun played the female romantic lead. It was the second project the two had worked on after the film "The Thieves" in 2012, and their on-screen chemistry contributed to the drama's success.

"As Ji-hyeon is a really cheerful person, the atmosphere was amazing on set. It would be great if I had a girlfriend with such a bubbly personality", said Kim.

Kim described himself as persistent and detail-oriented. "If I get drawn to something, I focus my attention on it and am rarely distracted", he said. "People advise me to look at the forest not the trees, in order to be a better actor. But focusing on each and every scene seems to help improve the quality of my performance and the drama overall".

As the TV series is also gaining a large following in China, Kim is expanding his career. He is scheduled to appear on a TV show in the country on Saturday, and will tour nine cities in seven South Asian countries afterwards to meet his fans.
