JTBC to dramatize webtoon, 'Awl': Can it be another 'Incomplete Life'?

The popular webtoon "Awl" will be reborn as a drama by JTBC. The planning has been confirmed and it is scheduled to be broadcast during the second half of this year.

Drama "Awl" will be produced by JTBC's entertainment production department.

The team manager of JTBC's planning department, Kim Seok-yoon, who previously produced sitcom 'Old Miss Diary - Drama' and 'I Live in Cheongdam-dong' will be in charge of the drama. He is also a talented movie director, whose ability has been acknowledged for his hit movies, 'Old Miss Diary - Movie' and 'Detective K: Secret of the Lost Island'.

Writers Lee Nam-gyoo and Kim Su-jin will work together with the director again since 'Old Miss Diary - Movie' and 'Detective K: Secret of the Lost Island'. It is highly anticipated by forming the dream team, who achieved the high perfection level of the quality as well as the profitability from the projects they have worked on.

Webtoon "Awl" is by cartoonist Choi Kyu-sok, who created 'Sad homage to dinosaur Dooli', 'Ecology report on damp land' and 'Native Korean'. The cartoon shows how the ordinary salarymen, who were busy with their own work individually pull together to overcome a difficult situation.

The realistic way to describe situations and the terse, sarcastic scripts moved many readers' hearts. The webtoon is currently posted on the online portal site, Naver. Fans of the cartoon have been voicing it should be made into a movie.
