UEE played Jang Se-jin, an overseas neurosurgeon in "Ghost Doctor" that ended on the 22nd. Jang Se-jin, who shows a cold and cynical appearance at the beginning of the drama, meets her first love Cha Yeong-min (Rain) and shows a complex and subtle emotional line. From struggling alone to nursing Cha Yeong-min with extreme sincerity, who later falls into a state of coma, UEE tried to show this character at its best.

● The following are questions and answers from UEE

Q. How do you feel now that "Ghost Doctor" is over?

I'm so grateful for all the love "Ghost Doctor" has received. It's been 7 months since I started this drama so I can't really grasp that it's over at the moment. It was an honor to have been Se-jin until now. I've been feeling very grateful for the people I meet through work as well.

Q. You came back for the first time in nearly four years with "Ghost Doctor", how did you get to choose this work?

I think I felt curious because the character Jang Se-jin was a kind of setup that I had never encountered professionally. And it was also attractive that Se-jin is a person who has to handle sadness alone when she is alone, although she is bold. I also wanted to work with actors who I had never worked with before. In the case of Rain, we never came across each other when we were singers but it was amazing to meet him through this work.

Q. On what did you put weight on while preparing yourself for this character?

First of all, I think I looked up a lot of neurosurgery videos due to the nature of my job as a doctor. I met doctors in person. Medical terms are very difficult. I practiced my lines a lot to make it sound natural. In order to show the character's strong image, I also cut my hair.

Q. Is there a line or a scene that is most memorable to you?

The first scene obviously. It is the scene where I run into Cha Yeong-min the first time and I had to express a complicated emotion. It was a scene where I reunite with my first love for the first time in 12 years. I had to be glad to see him and feel sorry at the same time.

Q. How was working with the actors in real-life?

I worked with Rain the most. I would like to thank him once again for his deep consideration. He made me feel so comfortable. He led the atmosphere of the field pleasantly so that we could create good synergy together. Thanks to him, I was able to have fun while filming.

There were a lot of scenes with actor Son Na-eun in the second half, but we talked a lot about each other's recent situation. The story worked well because we had something in common as actors while being in a girl group. I took more affection to her while working.

In the case of actor Kim Beom, it must have been hard because he had a lot of CG cuts and a huge amount of lines, but it was impressive to see him trying to cheer up on the spot. I miss everyone and I still feel like I have to shoot.

Q. Are you happy with Se-jin's ending?

Yes, I am. I hoped Se-jin could smile. I also hoped she would get back together with Yeong-min but I'm also happy with the final scene. I'm sure she'll become the cheerful person she was in the past.

Q. What will "Ghost Doctor" be to you?

It's going to be something I made a new attempt on. It was an honor to be able to try out a new genre and give warm laughter in tough times like these. I had fun throughout the whole filming and I received a lot of good energy myself.

Q. Is there anything else you'd like to say?

Thank you, everyone who watched "Ghost Doctor". I feel a great deal of responsibility with every work I do. With this, I want to go forward and show the better and newer me in the future. Lastly, I hope everyone is healthy and well.
