"I don't want to let Nok-doo go, like my fans", the actor said about the recently ended KBS 2TV drama "The Tale of Nokdu". He played Nok-doo, who sneaks into a widow village to find out the truth about the stranger that attacked his family, dressed as a woman named Widow Kim. On the other hand, there was a good display of action, too.

Being the first investment of the native online video service (OTT) WAVE, "The Tale of Nokdu" maintained an average viewing percentage of 6~7% and gained tremendous popularity. What drew the most attention was Jang Dong-yoon dressed as a woman. He even replaced Lee Joon-gi from "The King and the Clown" as a 'pretty boy'.

Prior to the filming of the drama, Jang Dong-yoon prepared for his character with pilates and contemporary dance instead of weight training. "I don't think there's a 'woman's voice' so I tried to avoid the typical and dramatic actions most men dressed as women would do", he emphasized.

"When I first tried on the women's hanbok, it was so awkward and embarrassing. My friends laughed and said I was a sight for sore eyes". On the other hand, Kim Jeom-geum from MBC's "Granny Poetry Club" told him how beautiful he looked. Jang Dong-yoon has been in touch with her even after the project and said, "I plan on making time to visit her soon".

Jang Dong-yoon had lots of nice things to say about Kim So-hyun, his co-star who acted as a tomboy. "I thought she would be pure and act younger than me, but when I did meet her, I was wrong. She is the best at communicating with her co-workers for acting".

Jang Dong-yoon is from the Kyeongsang Province and he can't stand injustice. While he was studying at Hanyang University's College of Economics and Finance in 2016, he received a police commendation for aiding in the arrest of a robber. After he appeared on the news, the agency contacted him and this led to his debut. While he lived in a boarding house during his studies, he even caught students who would smoke in the narrow alleyways, handing them over to their teacher, and made new friends.

Jang Dong-yoon considers "The Tale of Nokdu" a 'drama to be grateful for' and said, "Moving forward I will go for characters that I can create with effort like Nok-doo".

"I would also like to try a human drama about a lawyer that shines light on the dark side of society, or a reporter who condemns social injustice".
