[HanCinema's News] Seo Hyun-woo Talks About "Behind Every Star"

Actor Seo Hyun-woo recently had an interview where he discussed his role in "Behind Every Star" which ended on December 13th. "Behind Every Star" was his first high-profile role since "Decision to Leave" over the summer, and Seo Hyun-woo mentioned having to lose a lot of weight since filming that movie, to the point he's a bit difficult to recognize in more recent roles. In "Decision to Leave" he was ninety-six kilograms, but now weighs only seventy-two kilograms.

Originally Seo Hyun-woo had a slight build, having to originally put on weight as his role in "Decision to Leave" called for it. Seo Hyun-woo described the experience of losing all that weight as quite difficult, and not good for his health, suggesting he won't try to do it again. In "Behind Every Star" Seo Hyun-woo has a more important role to boot, as a credited lead. Seo Hyun-woo stated he was interested in "Behind Every Star" because he didn't really know the work support staff do for celebrities.

Seo Hyun-woo expressed gratitude and appreciation for their work, and also called his older acting colleagues incredible. Seo Hyun-woo noted that the original French series on which "Behind Every Star" is based ran for four seasons of six episodes apiece, and expressed hope for a second season, though no news on that topic has been forthcoming. Seo Hyun-woo certainly has had plenty of work in the meantime, with seven credited projects this year.

In addition to the two already mentioned, these include "Love and Leashes" on Netflix, "An Honest Candidate 2" in wide release, and "Thunderbird" and "Seire" as independent releases. Seo Hyun-woo said that it was fun for him to have such a wide variety of roles. Seo Hyun-woo is particularly glad when people look him up, and express surprise at how he was a character in another movie that they've seen. To him, this is significant praise for his talent as an actor.

Seo Hyun-woo will next appear in the historical action film "Phantom" in South Korean theaters on January 18th. His next television project will be "Uncle Sam-sik" sometime next year. "Behind Every Star" ended on December 13th with ratings of 3.6% in its twelfth episode, slightly down from 3.7% ratings in its first episode on November 7th.
