[HanCinema's News] Pyo Ye-jin Talks About "Taxi Driver 2"

Actress Pyo Ye-jin just finished a highly successful string of work, with high-profile roles on both "Our Blooming Youth" as well as "Taxi Driver 2" which concluded slightly more recently. In "Taxi Driver 2" she played a hacker, reprising her role from the first season, as part of the Rainbow Transport company around which the story revolves. Pyo Ye-jin has been popular due to her strong chemistry with the rest of the team, including the title lead played by Lee Je-hoon.

In one sequence, Pyo Ye-jin and Lee Je-hoon are forced to pose as a newlywed couple. In an interview, Pyo Ye-jin recently spoke of her strong chemistry with the more well-established actor. Pyo Ye-jin thought they looked great as a couple, and had lots of ideas for how to have a proper couple look. She also said that Lee Je-hoon also had his own ideas and even when they did not directly compare notes ahead of time, the results came out quite well.

Fans have noted their matching denim jackets, for example, which give a strong couple look impression despite these obviously being two completely different brands of denim jackets of different ages. Pyo Ye-jin was quite respectful of Lee Je-hoon in general, calling him her brother as well as a leader on set. Pyo Ye-jin denied any sort of romantic involvement with him, despite their strong on-screen chemistry. Pyo Ye-jin claimed she doesn't work under the auspice of unrequited love.

Pyo Ye-jin claimed to be surprised that viewers had this reaction to their chemistry at all. Pyo Ye-jin saw their connection stemming from Lee Je-hoon's character being able to better understand his pain thanks to her. Pyo Ye-jin also briefly discussed some surprise cameos. Namkoong Min appeared on "Taxi Driver 2" in his title role from "One Dollar Lawyer" last year. Moon Chae-won from "Payback" and Kim So-yeon from "The Penthouse" also had cameo appearances.

This created an implication that these various hard-boiled SBS dramas are a part of a shared universe. Despite knowing about the appearances ahead of time, Pyo Ye-jin was surprised at how fun they were when she saw them play out on-screen. Pyo Ye-jin claimed to have mentioned to Lee Je-hoon that he could do this too by just showing up driving a taxi. However, he said that he would prefer to cameo with his full team if he could. "Taxi Driver 2" ended on April 15th with ratings of 21%.
