[HanCinema's News] Park Shin-hye talks about "#ALIVE"

On May 27th Park Shin-hye attended an online press conference for the upcoming zombie movie "#ALIVE", in which she has a leading role. At this press conference she was able to talk a lot about what she considers the movie's content to be and why she took on the project.

Park Shin-hye described her character, Yoo-bin, as being a person whose relationship between her personal identity and society at large is very distant. Park Shin-hye described her character as very self-isolating- which naturally proves quite appropriate and useful in the situation of a zombie apocalypse. Though easily frightened, Park Shin-hye said her character had a strong survival instinct.

As to why she took on the project, Park Shin-hye stated that she thought "#ALIVE" had a fresh take in dealing with the ramifications of true independece in a zombie setting, and how this idea could work to fuse multiple genres. However, Park Shin-hye said the decisive moment was learning Yoo Ah-in had been cast in the leading role. Park Shin-hye had by this time already read the script, and thought Yoo Ah-in was particularly well-suited to it.

Park Shin-hye did mention the movie betraying her expectations in terms of the action scenes. She had not originally realized there was quite as much as there is in the movie. Park Shin-hye said this was exciting in terms of character, as Yoo-bin is a very logical person who's not that emotional. The story then, overall, is one of her character working with the one played by Yoo Ah-in, with a very different temperament, with her concentration and his energy working together to make the story more lively.
