[HanCinema's News] Park Chan-wook to Be Honored at Gala Event

Director Park Chan-wook, the director behind "Decision to Leave" among other such noteworthy tiles, will be the special subject of a gala event at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) this coming November 5th. LACMA CEO Michael Govan described the honor as being conferred as his unforgettable films never fail to show people the power of cinema. Proceeds from the gala will go to more film-centric programs at the museum.

The news comes in the wake of the wider release of "Decision to Leave" internationally following in the wake of Park Chan-wook winning the Best Director award at the Cannes Film Festival. The timing will also help to position Park Chan-wook for the upcoming American awards season. "Decision to Leave" will be released in the United States this coming October 14th, has already been released throughout most of southeast Asia, and is currently opening in new markets across Europe.
