[HanCinema's News] Kwak Dong-yeon Thanks Fans for Coffee Car

On May 18th, actor Kwak Dong-yeon made a post on Instagram regarding a coffee car which had been sent to the set of the upcoming military comedy "6/45" for his benefit. The photos itself did not clearly identify who sent the coffee car, but in the attached message Kwak Dong-yeon called out the fan cafe "Heart Kwakdong" as those responsible, and promised to invigorate himself ahead of filming. The Korean word for " heart " used here describe the physical organ, rather than a metaphor for love.

Kwak Dong-yeon has seen an outpouring of interest as of late due to his appearance in the recent drama "Vincenzo" where he played the fake chairman of the Babel Group. Ok Taecyeon, the second lead and villain, is the real chairman. Though a minor part of the larger ensemble, Kwak Dong-yeon nevertheless endeared himself to fans with his passionate portrayal of his role as well as his eagerness to engage with them directly on social media. As of this writing he has 2.4 million Instagram followers.

Kwak Dong-yeon's role in "6/45" was announced last year, however, long before "Vincenzo" made him famous. As in "Vincenzo" he will just be playing one member of a larger ensemble, this time with co-stars closer to his own age. Kwak Dong-yeon is only twenty-three years old. The news also incidentally confirms that "6/45" has begun filming. The project from writer/director Park Gyoo-tae is his first since he wrote the script for "Man on the Edge" which was released in 2013.
