[HanCinema's News] JTBC Announces Original Version of "The World of the Married" to Air in Its Timeslot

jTBC recently released more details about the upcoming two episode special for "The World of the Married", which will air on May 22nd and 23rd. As expected, the special program will feature various interviews with actors of the drama, including Kim Hee-ae, Park Hae-joon, Kim Young-min, Park Sun-young, and Lee Mu-saeng.

Somewhat more surprising was the announcement that the original British version of "The World of the Married", 'Doctor Foster', would be airing in its timeslot until "Graceful Friends" premieres sometime in July. Even for late night timeslots foreign dramas do not typically air on networks known for their domestic dramas.

But the decision makes sense. "The World of the Married" has stoked a great deal of interest in 'Doctor Foster', particularly as regards to adaptational changes. The title character of 'Doctor Foster' is significantly younger than Kim Hee-ae's version, and portrayed more negatively. Han So-hee's character, by contrast, shows significantly more active agency than does her equivalent in the original british drama. All of these factors are likely to be highlighted by fans in this new broadcast.
