The statements were made in a recent interview following the drama's completion on October 17th. Im Soo-hwang's inner character conflict over this tragic past event was a critical aspect to the drama's overall appeal, allowing "Graceful Family" to set a large amount of records for a drama on the cable network MBN.

Im Soo-hyang does not appear to have been given this information directly by the drama's screenwriters. However, during the early part of the drama she was told about the true identity of her character's father, which allowed her to narrow down the possible suspects. Im Soo-hyang claims to have received many phone calls on the subject, and considers the murder mystery to be a critical aspect of the drama's appeal.

Im Soo-hyang also noted how "Graceful Family" did not have as many romantic moments as might have been expected. She considered this a positive development, as it fit both her character, as well as the one played by Lee Jang-woo, her romantic opposite. The viewers were focused enough on mysteries and more immediate problems that, in Im Soo-hyang's mind, skinship alone proved to be a logical progression for the relationship.

"Graceful Family" centered around a risk management legal service in the employ of a major family-owned company. Im Soo-hyang played both one of the employees of the elite service company, as well as the youngest heir to the company.
