[HanCinema's News] Cho Hye-jung Confirmed for "Our Blues"

On April 11th "Our Blues" confirmed that Cho Hye-jung had passed an audition to get a role on the Jeju themed slice-of-life drama. Cho Hye-jung had not featured in any initial marketing for "Our Blues" and her presence had to be explained only when viewers noticed. The reason why Cho Hye-jung appearing in "Our Blues" is a hot issue is because she is the daughter of disgraced actor Cho Jae-hyun, whose career effectively ended in 2018 following #MeToo allegations against him.

While Cho Hye-jung was not involved with illicit attacks committed by her father, the fact that she is his daughter unavoidably meant that she was a beneficiary of his existing presence in the South Korean entertainment industry. Consequently, Cho Hye-jung has not appeared in any serial drama since "Go Back Couple" in 2017. However, she did appear in the independent films "The End" and "Soldier's Mementos" from 2018.

In "Our Blues" Cho Hye-jung plays a fairly minor role, having initially been cast as one member of the diving woman team. These characters are most closely associated with the role played by Han Ji-min, as she is a junior diving woman. Cho Hye-jung's character is named Dali, and has been described as friendly with Han Ji-min's character. "Our Blues" air new episodes on Saturday and Sunday on tvN in South Korea, which appear on Netflix worldwide shortly thereafter.
