[HanCinema's News] Chae Min-seo Apologizes for Drunk Driving

Following a judgment against her for drunk driving, Chae Min-seo took to social media to issue a public apology for her actions. The charges stem from an incident on March 26th when she was involved in an accident at six in the morning.

A passenger in the car had to be hospitalized for two weeks, and polcie determined that Chae Min-seo had a blood alcohol level of .063%, which is above South Korea's legal limit of .05%.

This was not Chae Min-seo's first offense. She had also been drunk driving in March of 2012 and December of 2015. In both of these instances she was allowed to pay fines of approximately $2000 and then $5000 respectively. Due to the escalating nature of the offenses, as well as the fact that a person was injured, Chae Min-seo was this time sentenced to eight months' prison time.

However, she has been allowed a two year probationary period, owing to her relatively low blood alcohol level as well as the fact that she was not driving particularly riskily when the accident took place. Chae Min-seo stated in her apology that she had been drinking the previous night and did not think she was still drunk in the morning.
