Time travel is a common genre in the world of Korean dramas but it is very rare that this concept is dealt with in a manner that doesn't look like a caricature of science-fiction. Most of the time, K-Dramas hit the right spot when it comes to time travel but in extraordinary cases, they can blow your mind.

"Signal" combines time travel and a mystery thriller in the best way possible and the talented and star-studded cast only makes it that much better. Starring Lee Je-hoon, Kim Hye-soo and Cho Jin-woong, "Signal" is the story of a young criminal profiler who communicates with a detective in 1989 through a mysterious walkie-talkie to prevent crimes and solve them too.
This drama depicts another crime thriller that transcends time. While investigating a serial murder case, an accident causes Han Tae-joo to get transported back in time where he has to solve a host of crimes to go back to his own reality. Jung Kyung-ho plays Han Tae-joo and Go Ah-sung as Yoon Na-yeong, this drama is a must-watch.
"Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo"
Who can forget this iconic time travel drama that left everyone clutching at their hearts? Starring Lee Ji-eun, Lee Joon-gi, Kang Ha-neul and a whole bunch of other stars, this drama will go down in the history of K-Dramas as being one of the most unforgettable ones ever. A woman from the future lands in medieval Korea where princes and Kings alike, fall for her charm.
The latest drama about time travel which drives the point home with its motto of, 'where' not being as important as 'when' is a complicated approach to the concept, bringing freshness to the same. Park Shin-hye is unbeatable and as always, does an incredible job of being the driving force of the drama. Cho Seung-woo too, is a perfect choice for the character of Han Tae-sool. "Mr. Queen" is a soul swap and time travel drama all in one and while that they sound like a recipe for over-complication and an overall mess, this drama is one of the finest dramas to have come out of the Korean entertainment industry. Dealing with themes of gender, sexuality and identity, "Mr. Queen" will leave you wanting more and more seasons.

A complicated series of events lead to the Crown Prince of Chosun time travelling 300 years into the future to investigate the passing of his Crown Princess. Hilarity ensues as he adjusts to life so incredibly different from the comforts of palace life while also finding love.
This drama takes a slightly different approach to time travel with technology that is able to teleport people back in time by exactly a year. However, the side effects and consequences are untested and often lethal. Nam Ji-hyun is particularly brilliant in this drama which makes the drama even more interesting.
