Korean Weekend Box Office (2011.04.15~2011.04.17)

The dynamic Ryoo Seung-bum (from "Foxy Festival", "The Unjust", and "The Servant") leads the charts this week in Jo Jin-mo's "Suicide Forecast". This comedy drama just squeezes into number one with 279,636 admissions in its opening week, knocking "Clash of the Families" down to second.

"Clash of the Families" lucked out this week as it found itself dislodged from the top spot. Kim Jin-young's tale of a family feud has attracted 1,827,051 moviegoers so far and will hope that Jo Jin-mo's hit is just a flash in the pan. Meanwhile, Joe Wright's "Hanna" comes in at number three with 117,015 admissions. It stars Saoirse Ronan, Cate Blanchett, and Eric Bana. The film has been receiving great reviews all round and shouldn't be missed. It is the story of a young girl named Hanna who was trained by her father to be the perfect assassin and now find herself in Europe on a dangerous mission. The animation bug bites again with "Gnomeo and Juliet". Gnomes from the garden of Montague and Capulet are at war but that won't stop the love, this is the second film in the charts this week to have a Romeo and Juliet theme so take your pick!

Korean directors Jeon Man-bae and Lee Se-yeong-II pair up with our number 5 film "I Am a Dad". This crime/action drama stars Kim Seung-woo, Son Byung-ho, Im Ha-ryong, as well as the adorable Kim Sae-ron (from "The Man From Nowhere"). "My Name is Khan" manages 57,041 admissions but that's enough to put it at number six. The chart veteran "Late Blossom" continues to add to its numbers at seven.

Bring up the rear this week is "Sucker Punch", "Last Night", and "The King's Speech" with just 37,142 tickets sold between them.
