Hallyu stars appear on Nihon TV's "24 Hour TV"

The charity program "24 Hour TV", organized by the Japanese broadcaster Nihon TV every year, featured several hallyu stars on Aug. 27, including Ryoo Shi-won, Son Ye-jin, and a video recording of Bae Yong-joon.

The program, now in its 28th year, is aimed at raising various charity funds under the theme "Living" and the slogan "Love Can Save Our Planet". Bae, for instance, has already donated 2,000 yen (approximately 210 million won) to disaster relief efforts and physically-challenged people.

In the latest edition of the program, Bae sent a video message in which he thanked his Asian fans for their support and said he wanted to repay their love by helping the needy.

Bae's latest donations were used to purchase vehicles to assist in relief efforts in the earthquake-stricken Niigata area. All of the vehicles have the actor's autograph inscribed on them.

Meanwhile, Ryu Si-won performed his song "Sakura" in Budokan, the program's venue. "
