Ha Ji-won Shows Unfamiliar, Ordinary Side in Latest Drama

Actress Ha Ji-won is no doubt a talented actress having played roles such as a charismatic warrior, a powerful queen and a legendary gisaeng, or female entertainer. But her recent part in "The Time We Were Not in Love" was far off the track of her career filmography.

In the drama, Ha plays an ordinary working woman in her 30s who pursues a career and love life. Due to the bland role, her performance was unexpectedly called into question.

"Since I usually portray strong women with distinctive qualities, my playing the ordinary role this time may have felt awkward", Ha said. "I acted like I really do in real life, and the character's way of speaking was my actual way of speaking".

And she has so much fun playing an ordinary modern woman, like herself in real life.

"I hope to play the right role according to my age", the actress said. "I want to show that I am growing as an actress as well and able to deliver better performances. I want to get better at what I'm doing and take up challenges without fear and learn from it".

Ha also said that she is always interested in dating, but a relationship is beyond her control. "I like happy and pleasant men who can hold a conversation", she said.

But it seems like she can't find time for dating as she is already getting ready for her next project.

"I'm scheduled to begin a new film project from mid-September. It's a joint Korean-Chinese romantic comedy with an element of mystery. It will be so much fun".
