Gang Dong-won is called the 'icon of the movie industry' and the 'guarantee check for box office hits', and has shown a variety of performances. Gang Dong-won, who captured the hearts of women with "Temptation of Wolves" in 2004, is loved by many as an actor who combines cinematic quality, acting ability and ticket power in movies of all genres, including historical dramas, occult, action, melodrama and period pieces.

However, his 2018 films "Golden Slumber" and "Illang : The Wolf Brigade" gathered less-than-expected box office results, especially "Illang : The Wolf Brigade", which was known to have cost 23 billion won.

Gang Dong-won returns for the first time in two years with "Peninsula" this year, and it is considered to be the most anticipated movie in the second half of the year, as various issues such as pre-sales have emerged not only in Korea, but also in many parts of the world.

In "Peninsula", 4 years after "Train to Busan", those who survived the ruins of the peninsula make their final struggle to escape. It is the first zombie-themed disaster blockbuster in Korean history and it is the expanded version of the ten million hit "Train to Busan".

In "Peninsula", Gang Dong-won stars as Jeong-seok, a survivor who returns to the ruined land, challenging a post-apocalyptic worldview film set in Korea for the first time.

Director Yeon Sang-ho highly praised Gang Dong-won for getting in the feel of Jeong-seok flawlessly and expressing even the least expected parts with detailed emotions.

Movie fans are looking forward to Gang Dong-won's performance, which is known to have shown the essence of action with his overflowing charisma as well as his delicate emotional acting. Gang Dong-won is showing as much love for the movie as his fans are interested in it. He is even appearing in web entertainment shows regarding 'civilization' for the promotion of "Peninsula", which is scheduled for release in July in Korea and major countries at the same time.
