He thanked his fans, who gathered to see him at a military unit in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province on Saturday.

"I want to thank all my fans who have been waiting for me, and also for coming here today to greet me", G-Dragon said.

"Now I'm going to pick up where I left off and do my best", he added.

In a testament to his enduring popularity, more than 3,000 fans from home and abroad gathered early in the morning to catch a glimpse of him.

With the exception of Seungri, who left the band and announced his retirement from showbusiness early this year amid an explosive scandal involving pimping, embezzlement and other charges, fellow band members Taeyang and Daesung are set to complete their compulsory military service in November, raising expectations for their comeback.
