Four Korean animation works to be showcased in New York

Korea Culture and Content Agency (KOCCA, CEO: Ko, Seok-Man) holds 'Korean Animation Showcase 2008' on the second day of Kidscreen Summit 2008, which will be held at Hilton Hotel in New York from Feb. 13 to 15.


In its ninth year, Kidscreen Summit 2008 is America's largest TV animation conference where visitors can feel and experience the current trends in the global family-oriented animation. KOCCA participates in Kidscreen Summit 2008 as a Joint-Korean Booth together with 19 Korean companies in the animation and character industries.

KOCCA particularly plans to promote the export of Korean animation this year by holding 'Korean Animation Showcase 2008', which will screen four demo scenes of Korean animation including KOCCA's Star Project and other excellent pilot works.

Works to be screened at the Korean Animation Showcase 2008 include Giant's Friends by Ssamji Animation, 2006 KOCCA Star Project, and Oasis by Synergy Media, winner of KOCCA"s Best Pilot award in 2005.

Kidscreen Summit 2008 will be participated in by major children's TV broadcasting programmers all over the globe, including Catherine Wai, director of creative affairs for Jetix Europe Ltd., Walt Disney's kids channel, and Oliver Alice, children's programming director for Target Entertainment, UK's major broadcasting production and distribution company, as well as some 500 delegates from the film production, distribution, programming, and licensing sectors.
