Exhibition for Blockbuster Also a Hit

The record-breaking film "Taegukgi" is also proving to be popular as an exhibition in Pusan.
The exhibition, done in the style of a theme park, opened Jan. 10 in Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO) and has been visited by an average of 3,000 people during the weekends and about 35,000 overall.

The exhibition includes army trucks and jeeps used in the film; a recreation of Seoul's Chongno street, complete with shoe stores and barbershops, just before the breakout of the Korean War; and a recreation of Pyongyang in the time of battle.

To show his gratitude toward the citizens of Pusan, Kang Je-kyu, director of "Taegukgi" donated on Saturday to the Pusan International Film Festival to help the region develop its film industry. Kang also held a lecture on film production at the site yesterday. The amount was not disclosed.

Released Feb. 5, "Taegukgi" took the shortest amount of days to reach 2 million viewers nationwide. The film is showing with English subtitles in select Seoul theaters. For more information, go to www.seoulselection.com .
