"Dong Yi" tops TV charts once again for second week

MBC's historical epic "Dong Yi" saw a slight drop in ratings but held onto the No. 1 spot on TV charts for the second consecutive week.

Data from TNmS (Total National Multimedia Statistics) on Wednesday revealed that "Dong Yi", into its 50th episode, scored viewership ratings of 29.5 percent on Monday night while slipping by almost one percent the following day, showing a decrease of 1.4 percent compared to last week.

Figures released by AGB Nielsen Media Research indicated that the historical series, starring Han Hyo-joo and Ji Jin-hee, recorded viewership ratings of 27.7 percent on September 6 and 25.3 percent last night.

This week's episode focused on the death of Queen Inhyeon (Park Ha-sun). "Dong Yi" was originally slated for 50 episodes but has been extended by ten more episodes.

Maintaining its position at No. 2 was SBS' drama "Giant" with viewership ratings of 23.7 percent on Monday and 24.4 percent on Tuesday, according to TNmS' polls, while bringing in ratings of 22.6 percent on September 6 and 24.2 percent the following day on AGB's survey.
