"Detective K" at the Hawaii International Film Festival

South Korea's hit movie "Detective K" will be screened at the Hawaii International Film Festival's 2011 Spring Showcase, which runs from April 1 to 7 in Honolulu.

The comedy-mystery filmed helmed by veteran comedy director Kim Seok-yoon will be shown on April 2 and 7, at the Regal Dole Cannery Stadium 18 Theatres & IMAX. "Detective K" is one of the four Korean films at the festival, that will feature 30 films from over 10 countries.The final movie line-up can be viewed here.

Meanwhile, "Detective K"'s debut in the international market kicked off on March 4 in Los Angeles. It will further be released on March 11 in other North America cities including Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco and Vancouver.

"Detective K" stars Kim Myung-min in the title role as the nation's top detective who was commissioned by the King to investigate a string of mysterious murders taking place in 18th century Korea. Veteran actor Oh Dal-soo supports as Han Seo Pil, the detective's dog-loving sidekick. Actress Han Ji-min transforms into a seductive and mysterious female merchant Han Gaek Ju, who aids the detective duo in their quest for the truth.

The film was produced by Generation Blue Films in cooperation with WithUs Films. It is distributed internationally by Showbox, and in the United States by CJ Entertainment.
