Court Lady Han of 'Daejanggeum' promotes Korean food in Hong Kong

Having played the court lady "Ms. Han" in popular Korean TV soap opera "Jewel in the Palace (Daejanggum)", actress Yang Mi-kyoung received a warm-hearted welcome from local fans when she visited Hong Kong to participate in the Korean Farm Products Exhibition last week.
The exhibition opened at 5 p.m. on Saturday in an open-air square of Olympian City. Over 10,000 Hong Kong residents welcomed the 44-year-old TV actress, who promoted a variety of royal court food used in the drama.
The Korean TV soap opera is a court story of a female oriental medicine doctor and a variety of food served at the royal court.
"Korean food is very tasty. I like it very much. My favorite Korean dishes are made from ddoenjang (soybean paste) and gochujang (red pepper paste), which are fermented", Yang told her cheering fans. While introducing Korean food, Yang demonstrated how to make kimchi.
The drama has been airing on Hong Kong TVB Channel since Jan. 24. It has registered a record-high viewership on the island.
