"Big Man" vs. "Doctor Stranger"

New SBS drama "Doctor Stranger" has decided to push its release date to the 5th of May and not the 28th of April.

This decision has everything to do with its competing drama "Big Man" which is planned to be released on the same date as "Doctor Stranger".

According to the normal order, the next drama should be broadcasted on the 14th as "The Full Sun" ended on the 8th. However, KBS chose to span out the four-part "Drama Special - Their Perfect Day" instead for two weeks.

This seems like a declaration to "Doctor Stranger". "Big Man" claims, "We never said the release date was for the 14th. We only chose the 28th for the perfection of our product".

However, a source says, "It looks like this has been decided for a turn up in atmosphere as the previous drama "The Full Sun" recorded a low percentage. With "Empress ki" done in a week, it looks like "Big Man" is looking to compete with "Doctor Stranger"".

However, this plot has gone to waste as "Doctor Stranger" pushed back its release date. It claims it doesn't have anything to do with its opponent but others speak different.

While there is an intense competition going on around here, criticism can only go so far as the organization of dramas is strictly up to the broadcasting stations. However, this can cause a problem for the previous tenants. With the delay of "Doctor Stranger", "The Full Sun" isn't going to extend its date but something else has to replace the empty week. Disappointment is also another problem, to the ones who have been waiting to watch the new drama.

However, in a way, it's a bitter situation. With the competition getting more and more intense, if a drama doesn't come up with a high percentage in the first and second episode, it becomes stamped as a failure. These days, organizing a drama needs a careful strategy to become successful.
