Bae's New Movie Sets Record in Japan

Actor Bae Yong-joon's new movie "April Snow" set a record for selling 2,600 advance tickets in a single day since Scarajwa, the main theater screening the movie, began accepting booking on April 29.

Scarajwa, in Hibiya, Tokyo, planned to sell advance tickets from 10:30 a.m. However, as more than 50 people were already waiting to buy tickets at 9 a.m., the theater decided to sell the tickets 30 minutes earlier, and it sold about 1,500 tickets before noon.

"April Snow" broke the selling record of Japan's major box office success, an animated film called "Spirited Away", which sold 2,500 advanced tickets during its total booking period. "April Snow" is scheduled to premier in Japan in the fall.
