Moon Geun-young, one of the most popular teen actresses in South Korea, will show off her newly-acquired dancing skills in her upcoming film.

In "Innocent Steps (Taensoui Sunjong)," Moon plays a Korean-Chinese woman who lives in Yonbian, China, and comes to Seoul to learn dance sport, or competitive dance.

"This will be a heartwarming film about an innocent love expressed through the two character's passion for dance," said Moon on the last day of shooting in Puchon, Kyonggi Province.

The scene she filmed that day involved Moon's character imagining she is leading perfect movements and swift turns with her partner to the rhythms of the cha-cha and rumba.

"Of course, dancing like a professional was the most difficult part of playing my role in the beginning, but the more I became immersed in the role and practiced various dance skills, the more fascinated I was about them," Moon said.

For three months prior to filming, the actress underwent intensive training in dance sport from professional dancers, and went to Yonbian to learn how to speak in the accent and intonation of Koreans of the region.

In the film, Moon's character, Jang Chae-lin, comes to South Korea to learn dance but comes under the grip of human traffickers. She is about to be sold to a bar when a former national dance athlete, played by Park Gun-hyoung, saves her. Jang learns how to dance from him, and they fall in love.

"I have previously played students and this is the first time that I've played an adult role, but I don't think there is big differences between them. I just do my best to become each different role in movies," she said.

Moon won over audiences by her pretty and innocent look yet mature acting skills from her previous movies such as "My Little Bride (Orin Sinbu)." But as she is now starting her third year at Gwangju Kukje High School, she hopes to go back to her ordinary life.

"Although I kept thinking that I could've been better, I enjoyed playing the role as well as working with the nice film crew. And I want to keep learning dance sport, but at the moment, I have to study for a while and want to meet my classmates," Moon said with a big smile.
