Actor Park Bo-gum Seeks to Join Navy Band for Military Service

Actor Park Bo-gum has applied to join the Navy's band for his mandatory military service.

A Navy official said on Tuesday that Park went through a test and interview the previous day to be a piano player in the band. The Navy received applications last month.

The result will be announced on June 25 and Park, if accepted, will enlist on Aug. 31 to complete his 20-month duty.

Park has always had an interest in music and studied musical theater at university. Actually, music was his first choice for a career and he was preparing to be a singer at a talent agency, before turning to acting at the suggestion of the agency.
