Actor Kim Seung-woo to Act in Japanese Film

Actor Kim Seung-woo will act in a Japanese film, a first for a Korean movie actor.

The Japanese daily Sports Nippon reported on Feb. 7, "Korea's top star Kim Seung-woo will play as the lead actor in a Japanese film entitled 'Nice Evening' (素敵な夜、ボクにください) to be directed by Shun Nakahara and released next year. It will be the first time for a Korean actor to star in a Japanese film as its lead actor".

The newspaper said, "The forthcoming film will portray a story about the love between a Korean man and a Japanese girl with a comic touch. Kim will play the character of a leading player of the Korean national curling team that is visiting Japan to play in a championship. The shooting will begin in Aomori, Japan late this month".

The newspaper added, "Kim Seung-woo said, 'It's real fun. I've never played curling before. But I'll try my best, since I'm good at playing any kind of sports'. He attracted about 1,300 fans to his fan meeting in 2004 thanks to his high popularity he enjoyed after he played the rival character to actor Bae Yong-joon in the TV drama 'Hotelier'."
