"A Taxi Driver" Ryu Jun-yeol, the birth of another character

Actor Ryu Jun-yeol is coming out with another impressive character.

He is starring in the movie "A Taxi Driver" as Koo Jae-sik, an ordinary citizen from Gwangju.

He is a 22-year-old young man who participates in the 5.18 Gwangju Pro-democracy Movement without losing his positivity.

"A Taxi Driver" is the true story of a taxi driver who drove a German correspondent named Jurgen Hinszpeter (Thomas Krestchman) who alerted the whole world about the 5.18 Pro-democracy Movement, from Seoul to Gwangju. The movie is based on the petit bourgeois that do their best in all means possible.

Koo Jae-sik is a college student who dreams of being in the college festival singing competition. He is the only one in the movement who can speak English and meets the taxi driver Man-sup (Song Kang-ho) to help Jurgen Hinszpeter.

Ryu Jun-yeol mastered the Gwangju dialect as if he was from that area with the help of a friend and family who are from Gwangju.

Director Jang Hoon said, "Ryu Jun-yeol was first on my mind. I pictured him being a student in Gwangju in the 1980s. He lived up to my expectations".

Ryu Jun-yeol said, "It was an honor to be in this movie and I hope many people can relate to it".
