5 Mil. Moviegoers Choose 'Marathon'

"Marathon", a feature film about an autistic man with a passion for running, reached the 5-million-viewer mark over the weekend.

The film, which was released Jan. 27, was seen by 5,005,434 people nationwide as of March 19, according to the film company Cineline.

"Marathon" is the first film to reach 5 million viewers since "Taegukgi".

"Taegukgi" went on to set the local box-office record by hitting the 11-million-viewer mark. However, "Marathon", which currently holds the ninth spot at the overall box-office list, is not expected to do as well as that record-setting movie.
