The Korea Culture and Content Agency (KOCCA, CEO: Suh, Byung-Moon) held the 2007 Star Project Awarding Ceremony at the KOCCA building in Yeoksam-dong, Seoul on Oct. 4.
The winners for this year's star project award are the musical Bao Bao (Yeowoobi Art Company), and four animated features: Oasis (Tuba Entertainment), Lamimila (CharacterPlan), The Element Hunter (Heewon Entertainment), and T-Five (Cocaban).
"Aiming at creating 'stars' in the Korean CT industry, KOCCA's Star Project has, despite various obstacles, produced many successful projects, such as Pororo and Dibo", said Suh, Byung-Moon, CEO of KOCCA, at the ceremony. "We look forward to hearing yet another great success story from your projects".
Every year, KOCCA discovers and supports export-oriented projects in animation, character-design and creation, comics, music, and performance, with the Star Project Program. Selected entries receive funding support equivalent to 35% of the total production cost, or up to KRW 1 billion per project, as well as various service assistance offerings in marketing and human resources, and exposure in foreign distribution networks.
