Marc Forster, the director of the latest James Bond movie Quantum of Solace, is attached to an English-language remake of Korean director Ryoo Seung-wan's debut feature "Die Bad" (2000), according to the BBC.

Universal Pictures is producing the remake, which will be set in New York. The original film comprised four short films tracing the life two protagonists, gangster and a cop. It was shot over three years on a shoestring budget of US $75,000.

Screenwriter Brad Ingelsby, who penned the adaptation for the new project, described it as "an epic story of friendship and how a single incident can change one's life". The news comes as Hollywood top man, Steven Spielberg, confirmed he is in talks to remake Park Chan-wook's 2003 hit "Oldboy".
