As of Monday, the film attracted 3.5 million viewers in less than two weeks since its release on Oct. 31. It surpassed "Keys to the Heart", which drew 3.42 million when it hit theaters in January.

"Intimate Strangers" was initially a hit among 20-somethings, but is now drawing viewers in their 30s and 40s due to strong word-of-mouth, so it remains to be seen how far it will eventually go at the box office.

The film revolves around a group of close friends who gather as couples for a housewarming dinner. They play a game in which they must share all their incoming messages and calls, and the game exposes uncomfortable truths.
